So I recently came back from a short (and I mean short) but amazing trip to Barcelona! Since it was March, the weather wasn't super warm but it was still so nice just to get away and get to know the Spanish culture and history just a little bit!

We got a flight on Friday morning and landed in Barcelona in the afternoon. We didn't go for a fancy hotel, as we were only staying for a few nights, and were planning on doing a lot of visiting around! However, the hotel was still very nice, and had a gym (although kinda tiny) as well as a pool (that looked v pretty at night) and jacuzzi as well as a tasty buffet (where we had breakfast.)

We wanted to make the most of the rest of the day so once we'd settled into the hotel we decided to visit the Camp Nou - football stadium. We got there a couple of hours before closing time, so we went on a quick tour of the stadium. The tickets were kinda pricey but then also as expected for a tour like that. However, it was pretty cool to look round the stadium and have the freedom to look all around! Of course, you were made to walk through the shop in order to get to the exit, but omg the shop was huge! It was over 3 floors and was literally full of Nike sports clothes!

For dinner, we headed off to a local seafood restaurant, recommended by one of the locals. It was on the beach, and the food was AMAZING! I had a vegetable paella. If you want big portions, then this is the place to go! I ordered half a portion of paella, and what I got was probably enough to feed two anyway. The food was kinda salty, but I think they just add more salt in the food over in Spain, as most of the food was a lot saltier!

On the second day, we visited the Cathedral. It was so busy, so we didn't go inside, but it was so beautiful! But, my favourite part was getting there. Instead of getting a taxi, we thought we'd walk. It took about an hour, but it was so worth it as we got to explore all the cute little side streets, as well as looking at all the sites!

We got a quick sandwich at a cafe for lunch, and by the time we walked back it was time for dinner. We headed off to a very modern, sorta hip restaurant, not to far from the cathedral. We ordered tapas. The food was good - not amazing but still really good - and I made sure I got some of my favourite foods in Spain - patatas bravas and tomato bread! The environment of the place was so chilled and enviting , and I loved the way the restaurant was decorated, full of plants and drawings!

For the final day, we had a stroll along the beach, before having a quick lunch at a little tapas bar nearby. We ordered the typical tapas before heading off to the airport.

If you are heading to Barcelona, make sure you visit the first restaurant I mentioned! Although it wasn't the most up to date or 'posh' place, the food was amazing, and will be perfect, especially if you love seafood. It was kinda touristy, but you sorta have to expect that when going somewhere along the beach, but it was lovely anyway!
