Simple tips for a healthier lifestyle

With so much social media influence about which smoothie bowl you should be eating, what yoga poses you should be doing and what foods to avoid, I found it really hard to actually figure out how to have a healthy lifestyle. However, I just live by the rule that you need everything in moderation, and natural foods are way better than processed foods. I'm not vegan or gluten-free or on any special diet of any sort, I literally just try to balance out my meals to get the most nutrition I can out of what I eat, and simple try to reduce the amount of artificial and processed stuff. So I thought I'd just put together I few ideas of tiny things you can do to be kinder to your body!

1. Water, Water, Water. Water is so important for you. You literally need it to survive, so I see it as a must to hydrate enough every day! I do struggle with drinking enough water, but I just fill up a large bottle in the morning and try to get through at least 2 of them. I also just use the fact that more water will get you better skin and make you look, overall, healthier as motivation to drink more!

2. I find that if I know I have some bags of Quavers or Doritos in the cupboard, I'll end up eating loads of them, and the same goes for all cookies and biscuits too! So to avoid this, I just don't but crisps, and one day I decided to stop eating them altogether. Of course I do eat them say if I'm out with friends or something, but generally I've stopped eating them everyday for lunch, and to be honest I don't really miss them!

3. Snacks. Simply by swapping up little snacks and small things you eat can make a difference. Things like eating a handful of nuts as a snack is such an easy way towards a healthier lifestyle. I love a mix of walnuts, cashews and almonds - but don't go to overboard as although they are the good days, nuts are high in fat.

4. This isn't so much a health thing, but I guess it kinda is. I've found that I sleep better and wake up with more energy if I stop looking at my phone at least an hour before I go to sleep. This just allows me to switch off properly and not have some bright screen glaring into my eyes! These were just a few things I do everyday, and I really hope they can help you, as I know most people want that healthy lifestyle, but it's so hard to actually do so.
