I didn't wear makeup for 3 months!

So, I didn't wear makeup for 3 months. I generally don't wear loads and loads of makeup. I don't have anything against it at all, but I just prefer my everyday routine to be concealer, mascara, a bit of highlighter and lipstick, but going makeup free was still a bit odd.

It was kinda weird cause I didn't intentionally not wear makeup at first. I had almost 2 months of exams, with at least one a day, and so I was basically at home all day revising, or in an exam room. At home there was no need for me to wear makeup, and once I went to the exam, no one really cares what you look like, since you're basically only focused on the test. Also, I thought the time I spent doing makeup would be better spent revising, so I just kinda ended up not wearing makeup for the entire exam period. After that I just had holidays, and being away from the country meant I was just in a super chilled mode. I got quite a bit of a tan when I went away, and for some reason my skin seems to look so so so much better with a tan, so I didn't really bother with makeup. That lasted about a month, except for a few evenings out when I just used a little bit of concealer, mascara and some lippy! The weird thing was, I thought my skin would improve immediately, although that wasn't really my primary concern during exams. But, looking back on it, my skin didn't really look that good in the first month, despite me thinking I would have super glowy and amazing skin after literally not wearing makeup for a week. However, at the start of the second month I slowly saw improvements. My blackheads started to reduce and my skin just seemed to generally look brighter, and I got spots less often! Now I'm deffo not saying stop wearing makeup forever because that's just not really realistic if you do wear makeup, but the last few months have definitely taught me to give my skin a break from time to time. Even if I can now get in just one day a week where I go makeup-free, I'll be happy! Strangely, I actually felt more confident when I went makeup-free. I'm not sure why because I just enjoy doing makeup and spending time trying out new looks, but when I went out makeup-free I just felt nicer.
