I love trying new recipes, especially healthier versions of much loved dishes. So I have decided to create a series of posts, testing recipes I find and letting you know what I think!
First up is a perfect recipe for this time of year. As it's getting colder and autumn is getting closer, I have been craving a crumble but I also want to stay healthy. I found a recipe for an apple and blackberry crumble from deliciously Ella's blog and decided to try it out...

The Verdict:
On the whole I fell in LOVE with this dessert. However, I made slight alteration by using only 1 tsp of cinnamon as I felt like 2 would overpower the crumble. I also opted to not use the maple syrup in the fruit as I find they are sweet enough. Although I love it, and it resembles a crumble, this dish isn't and would never be as good as the real thing. But saying this it doesn't mean that I wouldn't choose the original over this - I like the way the healthy crumble tastes more natural and actually it was more indulgent and filling too!
Ella Woodward has so many amazing recipes on her blog and in her books. There are so many I want to try!
